Aims and Objectives
This class aims to:
- provide tools and techniques for the effective analysis and design of business information systems, and enable students to develop an understanding of their respective advantages, disadvantages and applicability.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module, students will be able to:
- communicate and apply principles of good business analysis practice;
- select tools and techniques for the analysis and design of business information systems;
- undertake business analysis as part of system development;
- undertake business process modelling and design.

- Systems development: lifecycle process models; systems requirements challenges and best practice.
- Requirements development: elicitation and analysis.
- Requirements development: specification and validation.
- Business process modelling: concepts, principles, notation.
- Business process modelling: methodology and tools.
- Business process modelling: partitioning and decomposition.
