Abstract
Cloud computing is disrupting the IT landscape across all types of organizations. In 2014 JP Morgan formed a group to design and build a cloud platform that will support thousands of applications written by 10’s of thousands of developers and used by hundreds of thousands of end users. This presentation will provide an overview of the goals and rationale of JP Morgan’s cloud platform and the implications of being a developer on this type of platform.

Bio
John McTeague is a Cloud Services Architect at JP Morgan Chase in Glasgow, working on designing the next generation internal cloud platform and helping the development community build applications that take advantage of the clouds capabilities. With 15 years’ experience across Financial Services developing applications in a variety of languages ranging from Cobol to Java and Go, he focuses today on promoting Cloud Native application patterns and making common sense design decisions for applications. John is also a graduate of Strathclyde University, obtaining a BSc in Computer Science in 2001.
