ResDiary is a Glasgow based company providing an online restaurant reservation system. Our main product is a restaurant facing web application that restaurants can use to manage their bookings and keep track of customers, and we also have a consumer facing booking portal (www.resdiary.com) where you can search for restaurants and book them online. We currently have around 4,500 restaurants using our system, based in the UK, mainland Europe, North America, South East Asia, and Australia.
Our development team is based in the centre of Glasgow, and consists of around 10 developers. This has grown from around 4, two years ago, and we’re looking to steadily increase the size of our team going forward. Most of our development team use C#, HTML, Javascript and SQL, but we also have an iOS developer writing in Objective-C.
We use an agile approach to development, and use continuous integration and automated testing methods. We also try to automate as much of the release process as possible, and are always trying to improve our processes.
At the talk, we’d like to quickly explain who we are and what we do, and then go into a bit more detail about how our development team works on a day to day basis. We’d also like to give you an idea of the sort of things that you’ll be likely to be doing during your placement, and give you a chance to ask us any questions you want.
